BOATING & FISHING

Enjoy a great day out in one of Queensland’s most popular boating destinations

Enjoy days on end exploring the natural wonderland around you with plenty of safe anchorages available for an overnight or weekend stay. Discover and explore locations like South Stradbroke, Jumpinpin Bar, Tangalooma, The Broadwater, Tipplers Passage, Southport Spit and more, with refuelling options close by including d’Albora Horizon Shores only a 5km cruise from the marina.

Alongside great boating locations comes a range of fantastic fishing spots. The pristine waterways consist of a maze of channels that provide ideal opportunities to target flathead, whiting and bream, while sports fisherman can also target species such as trevally, tailor and mangrove jack. Residents can also enjoy catching mud crabs from their own pontoon with an abundance of crabs available during the summer months.

While exploring the local waterways you’ll come across a variety of native flora and fauna including wallabies, birds and even migrating whales in winter.

The main entry to Calypso Bay is the Grand Canal which is 75 metres wide, with other canals averaging a width of 50-60 metres with an average depth of 2.5 metres at low tide, making it easy to navigate no matter the size of your vessel.
